silkscreen poster.

I had a extra time at studio last week, ( no fabrics to print! ) and I had to make prints for the printstitute. so I printed silkscreen poster using one of my favorite design doors.
I used 19 × 25inch off white paper from french paper. I think it would be nice to hung it up at my entrance or somewhere in the apt.
printing on paper and fabrics are different. it's basically same, but to me printing on paper is harder. You have to get it right at one time. I started with 10 prints, but after 5 layers of colors, it ended up with only 3 edition with BAT. that's bad...

a gift and beads.

I am a big fan of Amy Lemaire's work who had a studio at lillstreet. so when she was having a beads sale last weekend, I went and got me some beautiful beads! They are so pretty. I'm very happy. I won't use them as beads but place on my desk as an art objects.
Friend of mine gave me this amazing book of Charley Harper .
I am big fan of his illustration, so I was sooo excited! It was a artist proof edition, so it came with a silkscreen poster called "mountain bluebird".
Isn't it beautiful? I can't wait to frame it. I can spend hours just looking at these beautiful illustration. very inspiring!

silkscreen cards.

Last week, I was taking break from printing on fabrics, and I made cards for PataPri. They are silkscreen process print which I've never done.
It was so fun, as I printing yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, pictures full color showing up. I also used varnish on towels part, so it shining little bit on towels and i love it. I printed text and logo with gocco.

Past year has been wonderful.
I wanted to do something to show my appreciation, and I made special edition towels ( not for sale ) for first 20 customer with any purchase from my shop. These towels are show casing designs I have done past year.

Last year I did collaboration work with wing aka inkdesigner, and I had such a fun experience, so when I was contacted by Linzie Hunter, I was like Yes!.
I am a big fun of her lovely illustration, so it was such a excitement to work with her ( through emails).
Here is her fun alphabet design. I picked the colors.
They will be available in my etsy shop next week!
They are limited of 50 towels ( available only 25 towels at my etsy shop for sale ). so, if you are her fan like i am, please take a look next week...

fabrics!

One of the projects I'm working on for PataPri 1 year anniversary is to sell my designs as fabrics. I wanted to make something that you requested most for this special occasion.
It will be a pack of 3 designs piece of fabrics, small size and big size. Since making yard age fabrics are very labor intensive and takes long time, it will be very limited and also only this time. I hope you will enjoy them.
They will be available on April 16th Wednesday at my etsy shop!

Spring is here! at least in tokyo....

April is special month for PataPri, and also sakura season in japan.
it's a pretty amazing view of sakura! pics are taken by my brother in tokyo last week at meguro-river and near by japanese emperor's house.
anyway, last year of April, April 13th to be exact, patapri has started. i can't believe it has been a year already!!
I'm doing a few project towards the April 13th, i hope you all will enjoy what I'm working on.
one of the things I'm working on is that something i have requested most in past year. can you guess?
